Sound familiar?
The conversation was good. Then life happened.
Someone scans a code to get your checklist. A day later, they are in a group chat with strangers and receiving a pitch they never asked for. Even if the intentions were good, that is a long way from the exchange they agreed to. Good etiquette keeps the next step aligned with the conversation.
What slips away with the follow-up
An unwanted introduction costs attention and may put both people in an awkward position. An exaggerated recommendation can damage your credibility. Small boundaries matter because your contacts are trusting you to exercise judgment when you connect them.
Put it into practice
A better next step
Explain what the exchange does
Say what your QR opens and what information you are asking for. Let the person decline, choose another channel, or return to the conversation without scanning.
Ask before widening the audience
A contact exchange is not permission to publish someone's details or add them to a group. Explain a proposed introduction and give both people a choice.
Make your recommendation accurate
Say how you know someone and what you can personally speak to. Keep private notes private, honor a decline, and avoid using repeated messages to force a response.
Where ConnectQR fits
Keep the context. Make the connection.
ConnectQR separates ordinary guest intake, private CRM context, and mutually confirmed Handshakes. Its warm introduction workflow requires both people to opt in. Use those boundaries as part of your own practice so a helpful exchange stays within what people expected.
A message you can adapt
Give them a reason to reply.
This code opens the resource page after a short introduction. If you prefer, we can exchange details another way. And I will check with you separately before introducing you to anyone.
Illustrative wording. Replace it with the details and promises from your own conversation.
